My Story

On a whim in 2014, I attended my first Newborn Photography Workshop and became enamored with this niche.  The newborn stage is so sweet and fleeting that I wanted to capture these beautiful moments.  I also still loved photographing young children, as they are so naturally candid and emotionally themselves.  With the idea of specializing in photography of newborns and children up through age five, Molly Elizabeth Images, LLC was born.

My interest in children’s photography actually began back in 2004 when I was pregnant with my first child, Jackson.  As an expectant mom, I looked at a lot of newborn and children’s photography and realized not a lot of it spoke to me.  I then signed up for a class through the Cleveland Photographic Society to study photography and learn to photograph my child in my own style.  As friends saw my images, people started asking me to photograph their children and families, too.  Having twins, Grace and Henry, in 2007 kept life very busy.  But I found I had two more great subjects, and it only solidified my love of photographing children.  As the years went by, my progression into a small business happened naturally, and I enjoy photographing children immensely.

My business is unique in that the majority of my clients are little ones.  If I photograph families, it is usually because I started our relationship by photographing their children.  I adore watching kids grow, and it is a privilege when their parents keep coming back to me to document their child’s growth.  Getting to know and understand my clients is a priority, as I strive to make their session as enjoyable as possible.  Because I understand that children are so unpredictable, my goal is to keep photography sessions light, fun and very go-with-the-flow.  I find keeping calm and being sensitive to the child, no matter their disposition in the moment, allows me to create images that illustrate their true personality.  And after all, you want your child’s images to reflect the child you know and love.

One of the perks of having my own business is that I have the time to get to know my clients and their needs.  Unlike a big box company or large studio, I talk to each client to personalize their session to their specific taste and needs.  I’ve also invested in classic photography props and boutique clothing that tend toward a more vintage style.  I like my images to illustrate not only the beauty and personality of each child, but a sense of timelessness.  I aim to make the photography experience a joy for both children and parents.
